What will your pupil learn with Baleegh?

Baleegh is a platform for primary-school pupils learning to read and write Arabic. This page is for you: what pupils learn, what a lesson looks like, and what we don't promise.

Three skills the curriculum builds

As the programme defines them.

Reading

Say each sound correctly, read sound-blending words, then words, sentences and a full text.

Writing

Write letters in their different positions, then words, sentences and a paragraph, with punctuation in its place.

Listening

Tell letter sounds apart by ear, and listen closely to sounds and words.

What does a lesson look like?

This is how lessons run in the platform.
  1. 1

    Unit by unit

Four units in order, from letter sounds to understanding a text.

  2. 2

    A short explanation

Some lessons start with a brief explanation of the rule before practice.

  3. 3

    Practice with instant checking

Pupils know right away whether an answer is right, and try again if it isn't.

  4. 4

    Writing by hand

Pupils write letters and words with a finger or a stylus on screen.

  5. 5

    Visible progress

Points for activities, a streak of days in a row, and a daily goal.
